Dear Harold,

I have never encountered "in his death" turn elsewhere in Hebrew. Did you?
Besides, there is a supposed parallelism: grave with wicked, death with
rich, but NIV seemingly refers "in his death" to both parts: (in his death)
(he was assigned a grave with the wicked and with the rich). This is
twisitng, isn't it?

This doesn't fly. First, you suggested precedent for intensive plural only
for death, not for grave. Second, grave is his, not the rich man's. And rich
is obviously in collective plural, parallel to the wicked.
The translation is also meaningless, since criminals weren't buried in rich
man's graves.

Translation of be as at is highly unusual. Besides, it is still meaningless.

Where is preposition be, in? They simply cheated

> HH: Here is the American Standard Version:

death

Doesn't fly. They suppose different antecedents for [his grave] "was
assigned" and "he was." At any rate, there is only one antecedent in
wayiten, "he gave" or whatever you choose to translate it.

Again, grave is his, not the rich man's

Or would you disagree?

Best regards,

Vadim Cherny
