My two favourites are:

1. Dr J Hudson Taylor MRCS, /Union and Communion/, Article in /China's
Millions/, journal of the China Inland Mission, London, 1914. Reprinted many
times by The Religious Tract Society. Paperback, 84pp.

2. Unashamedly allegorical.

3. Protestant, conservative.

4. Two lovers, Christ and his Bride, the Church.

Dr J Hudson Taylor was the founder of the China Inland Mission (now known as
Overseas Missionary Fellowship).

1. Prof George Burrowes DD, /The Song of Solomon/, Philadelphia PA, 1853.

2. Allegorical and devotional.

3. Presbyterian, conservative.

4. Spouse and Beloved (Church and Jesus)

The Revd Professor George Burrowes DD was the first Professor of Hebrew and
Greek at the Presbyterian Theological Seminary, San Francisco, from 1872
