Whoever you are, you asked a good question.
Yes, by all means, if you can master an anthology of Modern Hebrew
literature, it will help you master Biblical Hebrew.Try the more classic
writers, from the mid-19th to mid-20th centuries.
That was basically my preparation for Biblical Hebrew (along with
frammar, of course).
