Both Gesenius and BDB suggest that it stems from an original
(NDY, by analogy with Arabic `inda "beside". I'm not so sure, I
wonder if it's not a dialectical variation or some sort of "energic"
form, but that's all I could find in the materials I have handy.
Anybody else?
