We set out to get AcaWiki listed on the same tracking system as
Wikimedia, in order to facilitate integration with that project and
community.

However, we should be conscientious in filing bugs upstream on the
Semantic MediaWiki project if that is where they belong (e.g., the
first bug).

That said, I can take the hint that there is a category mistake in how
AcaWiki is listed on Bugzilla. As you will note not even Wikipedia is
considered a product or component as far as the tracker is concerned.
Having our bugs assigned to wikibugs-l AT lists.wikimedia.org is not the
right approach.

Wikipedia itself directs all MediaWiki bugs to their Bugzilla, and
keeps Wikipedia-specific issues on Wikipedia itself (cf.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Bug_reports_and_feature_requests).

It is feasible for AcaWiki to do the same vis-a-vis Semantic
MediaWiki. We could also track AcaWiki-specific issues using a
separate instance of Bugzilla, or another tool, such as LaunchPad.

I agree we need to make this easier.

As a rule I discourage signing up mailing lists for bug reports.
Instead we should provide instructions on how to subscribe and
unsubscribe from bug reports.
