This is one of the forums where NAIS has been intelligently discussed. Thanks very much for the additional background you've provided. Your original post got quite a negative reaction in the local farming list I Xposted it to but again it
brought out much more information on NAIS. On one hand I cannot see how we
can do without it and on the other it seems
that it will be very costly for everyone involved, backyard producers to large corporations. I think the government should be footing the bill for most of these costs, paper trail, inspectors, accounting and record keeping. Make it mandatory but have livestock owners only be responsible for paperwork and not have to pay any fees at all.
