Ah, Laser Eye Implants.  A popular modification for children and pets these days:

On a related note, I'm looking at having lasers actually implanted in my eyes.  It's that new ILCK (if looks could kill) technology that DARPA funded a few years back.

I am thinking about LASIK procedure. Currently, the surgeon can edit
the cornea to basically do a bifocal correction.

I wear bifocals.  I have -4.0 nearsightedness and astignatism.  If
you've had LASIK, and your vision was like this before, I would like
to hear about your experience.

In particular, I'm worried that I don't know what the risk factors are
for the poor outcomes, other than thin cornea.
