Do either of you have rabbits? Well, that is the way to use it and then add it to the soil. We put some old wall board behind the cages since some rabbits like to back up to the wire and then "decorate" the barn wall. Then another piece went from the bottom of the cage and angled to the front for easier cleaning. The boards keep the smell down to about zero and the rabbit "stuff" gradually breaks down the board. You toss the whole works in the compost pile and you have lovely "stuff" to amend your soil with.

I have wallboard scraps here and was doing some research online.
Basically, everything I found was hearsay. One problem is the
possibility of additives, especially glue. The other is that it's best
broken (or ground up). How to do that is an issue. Supposedly gypsum
is a good additive to lighten clay soils. I was thinking of buying a
bag and working in soil in my herb garden with manure.

One thing that the bagged gypsum is clear on in it's instructions is
that it must be mixed with the soil to do any good, not just thrown on
top. I assume that the same is true for wallboard as a soil amendment.
How to break it up?
