what makes you think an assignment is involved? my understanding of the coloriuris system is that it was solely based on time-limited licenses, as carolina pointed out.

the explicit process to opt in for licensors is similar to CC licenses (and other legal tools such as Founders Copyright )in general. there is no opt in process for licensees under a founder's copyright so i don't see any parallels between founders copyright and Coloriuris licenses in this regard. but happy to be convinced otherwise.

No, it is the other way around, in the founders' idea you keep you
Copyright for a limited period of time and then you release it to Public
Domain. In the Coloriuris squeme you allow some uses to the public during
a limited time (normally 5 years), you are not giving away your copyright
so you regain the full control after the period of time of the
authorization.

I think Evan was pointing out that it required a type of copyright
assignment and an explicit process to opt in that was like the founder
copyright. Not that it was like the founders copyright in other ways
including the way you describe. Clearly it is quite different in many
regards.
