I'll bet that it's because dietlibc uses static compilation.
Static compilation wastes a lot of space, with all of the
duplicated library code linked in. Modern Unix-like operating
systems use dynamic compilation. Dietlibc isn't really designed
for distribution use, it's more for building run-anywhere
binaries.

Has it finally appeared? I can certainly help rebuild everything against
uClibc.
