I've found some small binaries that work with BasicLinux. There's everything from Busybox to zsh to vsftpd. I haven't tested all of them, but they should work.

I took a look at it, it's quite bare bones.

That must have almost nothing
compiled in. Although, a ~300k bash looks very promising, especially
statically built.

Yes it does. Maybe I should figure out how they compiled these and make some packages myself. :)

Plus, they have all the coreutils there. Plus stuff like vim, nano, etc. Very nice.
