Oh no! The email didn't go through! What will we do?

Did y'all see the Packers' defense last night?! (see? told you I wrote it)

Sunday it's Billy Buzzkill on the Orange County Special Sunday at 10am. Expect some smatterings of American primitivism, feelings of driving across American landscapes, and of course some Basho.

Keep tuned in at 1pm for Hell or High Water to hear the first in a two part exploration of 'Cult Music' of the Caribbean. Featuring Folkways field recordings from the early 40s through the early 60s, we'll listen to praise music's intersection with secular and 'native' sounds including Yoruba-derived percussion, the rhythmic breathing of the 'audible trumping' movement, Rastafarianism and the Shango Cult movement.

Then, break up your routine at 2pm on Broken Music, which will feature a brand new limited edition box set stuffily entitled Victorian Electronics, a drone-heavy experimental electronics bonanza courtesy of the Leeds-based Striate Cortex CDr label. Featuring noisy numbers from Astral Social Club, Daniel Thomas, Midwich and Ashtray Navigations, these no holds barred walls of noise and feedback arose from a couple years worth of live recordings from The Victorian Hotel in Leeds.

Remember remember the Sunday evenings. Every Sunday at 8, the Backyard BBQ focuses on some great area music. And don't forget about those monthly live shows. At 9, on SportsRap, hopefully we'll have more reasons to talk about football. And then at 10 we have two hours of beat-driven music on the NSE. Can you past, present and future R&B with Steph R and Phillip R (no relations)?

Monday at 9pm, the Outside Track will be the Aaron Dilloway and Jason Lescalleet pairing known only as Grapes and Snakes (PAN). Two twenty-minute separately recorded duo pieces by former Wolf Eye Aaron Dilloway and current song-about-nothing-writer Jason Lescalleet. Both are working with tapes and synths, and it is one of the more gripping releases on PAN. It really heats up!

Keep on listening,
JJ
