BOBBY FEW, "Continental Jazz Express" on the Inside Track, Wednesday 9 p.m.
Expatriate pianist Bobby Few, who has been living in Paris since the early
'70s performing in the ensembles of Frank Wright, Steve Lacy and Noah
Howard, made a rare visit to his native country for a solo performance at
the 2000 Vision Festival in New York. Boxholder Records has released his
set onto CD, an energetic suite with tinges of stride, boogie woogie,
African and Far Eastern musics.

Various Artists, "Do the Pop!: the Australian Garage-Rock Sound
1976-87" on the Inside Track, Friday 9 p.m.
Inspired by two punk-era bands, The Saints and Radio Birdman, Australia
exploded in the late ‘70s with scores of bands who melded the sounds of
classic ‘60s garage-rock and the Detroit rock of the Stooges and the
MC5. Starting with three tracks apiece from The Saints and Radio Birdman,
"Do The Pop!" includes essential tracks from every key band that followed
their path. Many of these records have remained out of print for years,
now rereleased on Australia's Shock Records.

DAVID CROSBY, "If I Could Only Remember My Name" on the Classic Inside
Track, Sunday 2-3 p.m.
This week's show features David Crosby's beautiful 1971 album "If I Could
Only Remember My Name." Recorded with the help of Jefferson Airplane, Joni
Mitchell, The Grateful Dead, and Neil Young, among others, this album of
radiant harmonies and ambient, Bay Area folk-rock has been prized by
aspiring singer-songwriters for generations.

A discussion of THE ROLE OF MONEY IN POLITICS on Northern Hemisphere Live,
Sunday 5-7 pm.
This week's NHL will address the role money plays in politics and the
movement for clean elections in North Carolina. The show will feature
guests from Democracy South and UNC's political science
department. Listeners are invited to call in and participate.

CAVE CATT SAMMY, "Love Me Like Crazy" on the Inside Track, Monday 9 p.m.
A hard-working touring outfit known for playing 250 dates per year, Cave
Catt Sammy has earned a reputation as one of the best young rockabilly
