Last I recall Sorcery would remember what queries/optional dependencies
you'd answered earlier in the process and 'apply' those answers to
further similar questions (e.g. answer using xorg to provide X11-LIBS
once, then the other casts down the line would automatically have xorg
selected by default).

By default, Sorcery will ask, but it will be asking if you wish to
continue to use $PROVIDER for $PROVIDES. You can skip these with
PROMPT_DELAY.

We do have defaults, at least for queries, but not optional dependencies
(though those can be set by using `sorcery default add ...`.

Perhaps another Sorcery feature would be to 'silence' queries/optional
dependencies which have already been answered. If you enabled this
option, you wouldn't be asked to continue using xorg to provide X11-LIBS
*unless* you used -r when casting. Would that work?

I haven't read this entire thread about menuconfig, so I cannot comment
on this one, but we all know students are lazy. ;)
