I haven't been able to do a successful sorcery rebuild since before 0.8.
0.8.0 filled up /tmp and eventually crashed when tmpfs filled, 0.8.1 cast
dependencies in the wrong order and couldn't cast linux or xfree86 because
linux-new and NVIDIA_kernel hadn't been updated, 0.8.2 can't cast dhcp or
samba (bash hangs while making the install log), and all the dependency
changes going into the current devels mean something or other is constantly
broken. I've had to install my new system from a March ISO and go down a
printed list of "gaze install", manually casting each one.
Whenever I mentioned these problems on IRC, about 90% of the time they had
already been fixed in CVS, but I always had to wait for the next stable
version to see the fixes, only to discover new problems with each version.
I understand that Sorcery is going through major, painful changes and that
bugs are going to slip through, but why not release bugfixed stable
versions e.g. 0.8.2.1?
