0.8 releases being called 'stable' was always a paradox, as it's in the
devel grimoire. I've said before that it takes more time to make minor
releases, actually, looking back on things, there was probably not
much of a reason to even make 0.8.x "stable" releases, but it's was
more to test the proceedure, rather than get a "stable" release out.

Sorry if the term confused you (as it has many), but you really should
be using devel sorcery if you want a useable system :)
