Hello Hamish and Eric,
Before I get into this, I would just like to say I purposely stared at my
screen and thought about what I was going to say before writing this down,
then I did something else and came back to it before sending it off. This is
not a heat-of-the-moment thing.

Let's be honest Sandalle, you said it /much/ nicer than Hamish.
Unfortunately this is the first message I saw in this thread since my
original post (I had to actually scan my inbox to see your reply Eric.)
Hamish, I have the utmost respect for the amount of work you've contributed
to our distribution, which is why I've kept quiet until now. Perhaps this
belongs in the other thread entitled "List Etiquette", but I'm replying to
this thread to provide context to the discussion.

Being an active contributor to the project does not give you the right to
be disrespectful. Frankly, I find the tone in your reply to be pompous, and
I might add this is only the latest such example, as I am sure many of our
users who have been unfortunate enough to be on the receiving end of your
snide comments will agree with me. It is possible to say what you have to
say in a polite way, no matter how many times you've said it before, and
Sandalle is an excellent example of a model poster. I am sure fear of your
replies have discouraged others from helping out even in little ways... it
certainly made me hesitate on more than one occasion, but I swallowed my
pride for the good of the community. In the future, please take the time to
say what you want to say in a more civil manner, and if you can't do that
than please refrain from saying anything at all.

Back to the matter at hand, unfortunately we do not all have the same level
of skill and knowledge. I may be a programmer, but (unfortunately) I have
very limited experience doing so in a Linux environment. I can understand a
DETAILS file easy enough to update the version number and try it out, but
unfortunately I do not know how to make a proper patch Hamish, nor do I know
enough about sorcery to get the source plugin to work Eric. I believe I
contribute in my own way by filing the bug reports with as much information
as possible, and by making myself available for testing to anyone who takes a
shot at solving one of my bugs. It's the best I can do for now, but if you
feel such things are useless than I can limit my postings to those very few
times I have the solution as well as the problem.

Eric, I only pointed you to the bug because I felt it was relevant to the
topic at hand and contained some information that might be valuable to the
cause. For the record, I too do not use aMSN (prefering Gaim), but my
girlfriend does. I was made aware of the problem when she said she couldn't
use MSN anymore.

My apologies to everyone who had to witness this, but I cannot help but
feel at least a few of you feel the same way as I do on this matter.
