Lace you are a true revolutionary ! If only you had *my* arroganceand
perserverence you could have pushed this through a year ago :) ( <- this *is*
a joke, please accept my heartfelt apologies if it offends in any way)

I have just read through that thread and it pretty much mirrors this one.
SOme MAINTAINERS are active, some aren't, inactive ones should be removed
from
DETAILS as it is misleading.
I think the next issue of guru's access to sections other than their own has
been solved by opening up the grimoire for the NGA, everyone has access to
everything now right ? SO if you are maintainer of a spell in someone elses
section you *can* just fix it now.
Next, AUTHOR was suggested then as the variable to give credit to the
original
spell creator. It won't be used by sorcery at the moment, but this feature
could be added if authors felt cheated.
Lastly I have actually been actively removing MAINTAINER from spells I work
on
if the listed maintainer has not had any input into the spell in the period I
have been active as a guru (around four months , I am still just a baby :) )
which leaves MAINTAINER in the root directory of that section to announce the
contact for the spell.
Attached is the output of
grep -r MAINTAINER= devel/ | cut -d: -f2 | sort | uniq
I have never seen most of the names perform any maintenance on their spells.
SO I think we *do* have agreement now. MAINTAINER is *only* used if valid,
new
spells should use AUTHOR instead and we should all have more fun.
Anyone object to removing invalid MAINTAINER entries and using AUTHOR for
creation credits ?
