I actually think Maintainer is misused in many places. most of the spells I
work on don't have a MAINTAINER they have an original author who deserves
some credit, and a HISTORY file that shows who has worked on it thus far but
the MAINTAINER field in spells is just plain wrong. MAINTAINER has a
specific meaning that most maintainers (as listed in DETAILS) haven't earned,
CREATOR or AUTHOR would be more appropriate and MAINTAINER should be filled
in only if regular updating has been done.
For example
Arwed all the video spells are deserving of your name in MAINTAINER file as
you do a lot of work to maintain them. In other sections the maintainer
listed might not have touched that spell in 6 months, or ever since the spell
was created.
I think the MAINTAINER file in the root of each section is enough. And
HISTORY
tells the rest of the story.
