Devel is not going anywhere. Perforce (right now) and CVS checkout (soon)
will be available for these people to test whatever they want in devel
land. In fact, if they are so up-to-date, they would find the incremental
updates those provide better than redownloading the big tarball every few
hours. At least, I do. Along with this restructuring comes guru access
to test grimoire more easily, so if we're talking about an update that the
developer feels should be in test for everybody, they could integrate it
sooner than two weeks if there was enough demand (as I understand it).
Moreover, both MPlayer and Mozilla have their own CVS/nightly versions
that are in test, so in theory devel wouldn't be needed for these anyways
(emphasis on "theory").

I think the rationale was that we needed more people running test instead
of devel and these two changes were suggested as a way to go about it. I
personally don't care much for the removal of the devel tarball, but
knowing that CVS and perforce will be available to still access that, I
didn't object. Guru access to test I liked much better as it is the gurus
that best know when they can safely pull something to test. I think of
the rules as guidelines, in a way. I hope sandalle doesn't disagree and
I've been following the conversations closely enough to be accurate.
