I went back to 2.4.21 (with a few patches). I had devfsd always complaining of
a missing /etc/modprobe.devfs, and I couldn't find any reference to the syntax
of that one. That and the konsole error (besides the one that append
"boot=..." fixes), have kept me at 2.4.21.
