1. CVS update of the grimoire. Amazing for someone with a 56k modem.

That's smart, and grimoire's user actions really resemble that of a
programmer developing source code. What happens if there's a conflict
though? CVS will effectively destroy the file's value with ">>>>>>>". I
think rsync is much more suitable here.

I was thinking rsync as well.

I'm guessing here but I would imagine everytime I do a "scribe upd test" less than 5% of 1.4MB grimoire are changes. I guess this is what cvs or rsync will overcome. I might've missed a posting in the past but why doesn't Sourcemage support downloads of individual spells instead of the entire grimoire. So if you wanted mozilla-1.4 you would "scribe add spell mozilla-1.4" which yould add the mozilla-1.4 spell to your grimoire. When you "cast mozilla-1.4" it will add the spells for the dependencies to your grimoire and continue to cast those. Sourcemage virtually does this with multiple grimoire and have talked about having sectioned-grimoires.

I recently heard the gentoo version of the grimoire is quite large.
