In games i am aware of a large number of custom make command and hacks.
I plan on working them out when i come across them, ie for updates, bugs or
freetime permitting. verifing 150 spells will take some time.
As for a libhacks module I'll wait and see. Many of these hacks can be
removed
if --bindir=${INSTALL_ROOT}/usr/games is used, others that don't run
configure (rare) need to have sedit run on the makefile.
I am working on a universal ./configure --switch for games like this
#---------------------------------------------------------------------
##=item games_build
##
## Used if no BUILD script is found for a spell
## Games build is:
## ./configure --build=$BUILD \
## --bindir=${INSTALL_ROOT}/usr/games \
## --prefix=${INSTALL_ROOT}/usr \
## --datadir=${INSTALL_ROOT}/usr/share/games \
## --sysconfdir=${INSTALL_ROOT}/etc \
## --localstatedir=${INSTALL_ROOT}/var \
## $OPTS &&
## make &&
## prepare_install &&
## make install
##
#---------------------------------------------------------------------

perhaps in the end we may need a module to define games_build ??
any thoughts objections to using the above directories by default for games?

Lastly how does everyone fell about splitting the games section?
I would like to start making spells for binary games like quake3, unreal
tournament, return to castle W0rfenstein etc... allowing users to either use
their game cd for data or the demo. i dont think they should go into
z-rejected but into their own section "3Dgames". Any binary spell would have
a warning on it but not the escape clause that cancels z-rejected builds. So
it builds, but it tells you there is no source and the vendor must be
contacted re bugs etc...
Ideally 3Dgames would also have all GL games in it like quake2,
foobillard,glaxium,TORCS etc as these games are pathetic without 3D accel.
So in summary games_build is in the works...
and we need a new section called 3Dgames ( all spells in this section require
hardware accel and/or hardware GL) leaving the original games section as home
for console games, boardgames, arcade games, card games and SDL games not
using hardware accel.

Any thoughts???
