Patch for glibc

(In reply to comment #3)
> Is 2.7 still the default?
No it isn't, but that is easy to change in the PREBUILD script. I've done this
in the attached diff (yes I know ow to use diff, I was just a bit lazy ;)).

> Have you done a complete rebuild with 2.8?
No not yet, but I'm doing a complete rebuild from (your last) chroot just now.
I have rebuilt the complete toolchain including g++ and triggered spells
without errors.
One thing I noticed was that when I by mistake left the "lib64 purge, part 2"
at default no in glibc but not in gcc, I got an error because the build system
expected a multilib build. I was wondering if this questions could be removed
and lib64 purged by default, or is there a real need for lib64. I haven't come
across any multilib spells.

There was a discussion
<http://archives.devshed.com/forums/development-94/glibc-2-8-tarballs-2416726.html>
back in may about this. The net result was that no tarball will be released
for
2.8 at GNU, but that this is a stable release. It's not a pre-release. I think
that eventually cvs will have to be default for glibc. Another possibility is
to use one of the weekly snapshots of the stable branch mentioned in my first
message.
