Hm, it wouldn't hurt. It's not the most pressing issue for me, though.
The alias works for "How do I contact developer x? Ah,
x AT sourcemage.org." Sending with this address obviously doesn't work in
a world with DKIM unless we implement what you suggest.

What do you mean with spam status? Stuff sent from @sourcemage.org
being considered spam?

I must admit that I really don't care for that anymore. An address is
there so that people can find a way contact people. Obscuring the
display of the address doesn't help there. And with the spam,
personally, I do receive my lot of daily spam, but it doesn't bother me
much. Bogofilter really does a nice job, perhaps helped by the fact
that I have multiple addresses. I only have to check the few mails
being but into the "maybe spam" folder.

I consider it a vain and pointless attempt to protect an actively used
public mail address from the world. As long as it's no targeted DoS
attack, spam is just the normal background noise for me. I can tune it
out mentally, but I will not be able to remove it from existence.

Are you folks really bothered by spam, personally? Even my mom learned
not to react to dubious business offers or sudden confessions of love
from unknown people from (sorry, Vlad;-) Russia.

Alrighty then,

Thomas

PS: It might truly be worse for folks unfortunate enough to have
English as primary language, but since by far most of my proper mails
are in fact written in English, that should not give Bogofilter an easy
advantage.
