I have a kernel-headers spell for easier updates of the kernel headers,
but to get it in a usable state I need to strip the headers out of glibc
so that when glibc is recasted it doesn't remove the headers.

Why kernel-headers spell? Glibc in test grimoire has the possibility to use linux kernel headers from the latest stable release.
config_query GLIBC_SANITIZE_HEADERS "Do you want to use sanitized linux kernel headers from the latest stable release" n
Probably it could also use linux headers from installed or selected linux kernel.
Imho system's headers must be headers used during casting of glibc.
