Hello Mages,

Since I have been nominated for this position, here are some plans I
have to further improve the PR of Source Mage GNU/Linux.

By already starting Mage Power, I have a good base to start with. I have
some experience with writing a web site like this, because I have a
similar web site at http://arosshow.blogspot.com that covers an Amiga
like operating system named AROS. This has been active for about 2 years
now and it has been successful. In the beginning it only received 10 or
less visits a day. Today it averages around 85 visits a day and has a
total of over 50,000 visits.

My plans are to keep publishing news, interviews and howtos at Mage
Power. I plan to write an article about installing SMGL with screen
shots included. Something like this:
http://arosshow.blogspot.com/2007/10/aros-installer-test-now-that-neil.html.
I also plan to write an article about how to use Sorcery. By continuing
to publish articles and interviews periodically, I think this will help
spread the word about SMGL.
My recent interview with lynx appeared on lwn.net, linuxtoday.com,
rootly.com, distrowatch.com, lxer.com, linux.com, www.joker.si, and
linux.prinas.si. I have an interview with Sandalle almost finished and I
am beginning to interview Andrew Stitt. I do not want to be too frequent
in publishing interviews, so I will make sure I space them apart
accordingly.

Another idea I have is to target Linux Journal. I plan to pitch ideas to
them about certain articles and see if I can get them to publish them in
the magazine. I may even be able to gain the interest of other Linux
writers, who will include SMGL in their articles.

Distrowatch.com is also on my list. I think in time SMGL will appear in
the top 100 again one day. New ISO releases would help with this. But I
think added exposure will bring new developers to help with new ISO's. I
also plan to do more research on gaining activity on Distrowatch.

Last but not least, I am bringing back "This Week in SMGL", but I may
change it to "This Month in SMGL". I will post this on Mage Power. I
hope to make it as popular as it was in the past.

This all will take time, but if people consistently see the name, Source
Mage GNU/Linux, they will be more willing to try it.

I hope this makes sense and helps explain some of my plans. I have used
Source Mage for over 2 years now and I'm not going anywhere. So if your
worried that I will quit doing this and leave in 2 or 3 months, there is
no need to worry. I took my time in starting Mage Power because I wanted
to make sure I did it right. I have been planning it for some time.
I am definitely open to suggestions. So if you have any, please feel
free to e-mail me, I would love to hear them.

Thank you!
