Hi all,

I tried sourcemage a few months ago and somehow
got the install into a broken loop or some such.

My current distro for the past few years is Debian
(SuSE for a couple years before that and Slackware
for many many years before that.)

Source Mage sounds like the distro of choice for
me, but I have a hard time believing. I really like
the "idea" of Debian, but the reality really sucks
(That's just my opinion, so keep the rope in storage.)

At any rate, is there any plans on doing some screen-shots
of a system doing install, final product etc? I built
a simple LFS system once and really loved it, but it took
so long to download, configure and build, that I never
took it out of the box and played with it for fear of
breaking something and having to start over.

It seemed to be similar with my first round with
Source Mage. I have to share the computer with
my wife and if I recall, interrupting the process of
initial install was a fatal error.

Any opinions? Ideas? I'd really really like to find
a good distro that is stable and gives me the control
I need. I run a G450 dual-head system that Debian
seems to feel is okay to run as a unaccelerated single-head
system. I've got Gentoo and a few others ready to burn
onto CD and would like to try Source Mage again, but
I can't and won't let the machine just with the network
connected for hours on end.

Apologies for such a long "apprentice" question (I've
got some gray hair and have been running blind--no
windoze!--since 1998, so maybe apprentice doesn't
apply....).

Sincerely,

Dale E. Edmons
