I just want to drop a note about the alternative to klibc (I didn't
really get that to work for me):
You can put busybox into the initramfs instead, it also includes a
switch_root tool to get the last part done. I made such an initramfs
and put a static cryptsetup-luks in there to get my encrypted swap/home
going. As a side effect, I have a nice rescue system of quite some
functionality depending on my busybox config.
