I don't really have a desire to try to make the existing ones work again
with the way they're built. I think this new one will be more
maintainable, though it has some rough edges. Some of them can be smoothed
over, others probably should be left alone unless someone wants to make the
spell do hairy things and then patch it up whenever an upstream release
breaks that (which is where the existing ones failed). If we're going to
be hairy I'd prefer a way to make the kernel piece integrated into the
linux spell... that's looking more feasible with things like the latest
release of xen (3.0.2).

Anyway, we can see how it goes. It's in devel p4 now, depending on what
kind of feedback I get on it I may go ahead and put it in test since it
does work, it just isn't as complete as it might be.
