I was wondering since on the http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/ site
mysql 5.0is 'recommended' over mysql
4.1, so why was it that devel and test still default to using 4.1?
The person who updated our mysql packages isn't familiar with mysql
and wanted to make sure making the default 5.0 won't break the current
4.1 installs.
and another thing, I don't know if this is made by default but there's
another storage engine available with mysql 5.0
http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/federated-storage-engine.html
and also why is building the InnoDB engine still defaulted to no?
I'm not sure...perhaps that's the default way mysql comes so we
defaulted to it as well?
