Thanks, that was it.

root@leela:~# cat /etc/securetty
tty1
tty2
tty3
tty4
tty5
tty6

This works. Again thanks, didn't think it could be that easy, the ones with
/dev looked mighty correct (and were, as far as I recall, there by default).
