there is no mention of load, or other appropriate considerations.
One of them uses glxgears as a benchmark but expects the kernel to overcome
problems in xfree86 and NVIDIA's drivers. GL libraries are also threaded, but
this user makes no mention of whether they are using NTPTL and the futexes in
the 2.6 kernel, or just the same old glibc and NVIDIA_standard driver.
It is safe to say that memory management has improved greatly in the 2.6.X
kernel and as a result GUI responsiveness is increased.
Any one not finding a performance increase from using a 2.6.X kernel does not
prove anything except that there setup is different to 99% of 2.6.X kernel
users who do find it stunning.
