you did load the right scsi module for your card when the chance was offered
in the initrd ?
do you have anything in /dev/scsi ?

the ISO is only 198MB, one third the size of a regular cd, so I don't know
why
you were having problems. but writing to a writable disc won't help I don't
think.

that's ok, and thanks for then replying to the list. I was about to forward
your message to me onto the list and you saved me the trouble .


you can partition before booting and then mount manually to /mnt/root from a
shell during the install.
