php requires pcre. It's an optional dependency at the moment.

So when I first installed php, pcre wasn't installed and the question for the pcre dependency defaulted to "no".

So I installed pcre and recast php, this time the pcre dependency defaulted to "yes", I changed this to "no" and it failed.

So I recast php with the pcre dependency set to "yes" and all is OK.

Sergey, do you still want me to submit a bug report or will you make the change.

Cheers for the help, Duane.

Haven't seen this before. preg_* are the built-in regex functions,
right? or are they PCRE functions?

pcre functions start with (surprise ;-) pcre_.
