Haven't had anytime to touch netconf yet, I was actually planning on
looking at it tonight. It should only take an hour or two to update.

Thanks, for the time being I'll just try to ensure that its a positive
integer.

The /sbin/ifup script handles all of these new variables (though there
is a bug preventing UP_ON_BOOT from functioning). test and stable
grimoires appear to have a network init.d script which calls ifup for all
connections. Are you sure you are up to date?

The file is at /etc/init.d/runlevels/%3/network.
