Well, that certainly not how `gaze prune' operates. I used it a couple of weeks ago, and I had a quick look at the code before I did that, just to be sure. `gaze prune' creates a list of all the SOURCEs in all grimoires, and then removes any files that are are not on the list. It doesn't mean anything if the spell is not installed, it would still get on the list. There are other sorcery options that may remove needed tarballs, but not `prune'.

I had an issue with running gaze prune on my server that serves /var/spool/sorcery. i thought it would clean up the cache and old sources! It cleaned up the cache ... and then deleted any source from spells that weren't installed(on the server), which sucks as i had to download a gig of tarballs!
Could gaze prune be modified so it only removes out of date packages, not all the packages that aren't installed?
