I am not actually sure that the switch i added to gcc compile is doing
anything i hadn't realised that sandalle had patched glibc with SOURCE3, I
looked in $SCRIPT_DIRECTORY and saw no patch so assumed it was the gcc
configure switch that had fixed the problem
