I'm quite sure it wasn't PAM. I have been using 0.75 and now 0.77 without any problems. The only related thing was that PostgreSQL PAM handling is kind of weird, but that's not PAM itself I think. Try running ssh in verbose mode and see where exactly does it fail.

Hmm, it is /bin/bash...but I _like_ bash (or is sh a symlink to it or
something?) Also, root is /bin/bash, and works.


BTW after this issue, I went on troubles with Linux-PAM (upgraded from 0.75 to
0.77) and the only way to get out of this one was to dispel Linux-PAM and goes
without PAM at all... I would double check that too if I were you...

Hmm, I'm recompiling PAM and dependants now, just in case. If that fails, I'll try downgrading PAM.
