OK, I have removed the faulty stick, and tested again, and appear to
have completly good RAM. However I am still unable to compile GCC. The
full compile log is at:
http://kallisti.2y.net/~robin/gcc.compile.log
but the relevant errors are:
/usr/src/gcc-3.2.1.bld/gcc/g++ -shared-libgcc
-B/usr/src/gcc-3.2.1.bld/gcc/ -nostdinc++ -B/usr/i686-pc-linux-gnu/bin/
-B/usr/i686-pc-linux-gnu/lib/
-isystem /usr/i686-pc-linux-gnu/include -march=athlon -mmmx -m3dnow -O3
-D_GNU_SOURCE -o abi_check abi_check.o
-L/usr/src/gcc-3.2.1.bld/i686-pc-linux-gnu/libstdc++-v3/src
-L/usr/src/gcc-3.2.1.bld/i686-pc-linux-gnu/libstdc++-v3/src/.libs -lm
/usr/src/gcc-3.2.1.bld/i686-pc-linux-gnu/libstdc++-v3/src/.libs/libstdc++.so:
undefined reference to `libintl_bindtextdomain'
/usr/src/gcc-3.2.1.bld/i686-pc-linux-gnu/libstdc++-v3/src/.libs/libstdc++.so:
undefined reference to `libintl_gettext'
/usr/src/gcc-3.2.1.bld/i686-pc-linux-gnu/libstdc++-v3/src/.libs/libstdc++.so:
undefined reference to `libintl_textdomain'

Interestingly, another problem I'm currently having:
robin@kallisti:~$ gabber
gabber: relocation error: /usr/lib/libgnome.so.32: undefined symbol:
libintl_bindtextdomain

Does anyone know the cause of this? Where does libintl_bindtextdomain
come from?
I have a couple of things I'm going to try, will keep you posted if I
have any luck.
