the symlinks all check out fine, except that rc3.d only has simlimks to networking, xinetd and cups, is that normal? i forgot to say that im usually in runlevel 5 (which has identical symlinks as 3).

Jeremy,

Check your /etc/rcS.d, /etc/rc6.d, and /etc/rc3.d and make sure there are
links to /etc/init.d/mount.sh and that /etc/init.d/mount.sh and
/etc/init.d/functions exist. The init.d spell is supposed to take care of
all of this, though we had problems in the past, they should now be fixed.
e2fsprogs no longer changes anything in /etc/*.

im using reiserfs. last night sorcery wanted to cast e2fsprogs which it
did and this morning i could not boot up... i got that silly /proc not
mounted error. so i used the cd, chrooted, and then cast init.d and that
fixed the problem, but i think this is a messy bug.
