Likely Evolution wants to display somthing to complete the install. Run
the cast in X and before running the cast sommand, run "xhost +localhost"
as the user who is logged into X, then "su -", and run "export
DISPLAY=:0.0", /then/ cast it. The xhost command give everyone on loclhost
permission to display things in your X server, and the export sets the env
var for where the X session to use is. A similar problem exists for
netscape.
