This is astounding on so many fronts. Most notably the age of the people
leading it.

It was on the radio today, Here and Now and an interview the project
originators.
They explained how it works that in five years they will remove 50% or all
floating plastic waste.
More about any cleanup effort:
This project only removes less that 10% of all the plastic that enters
marine ecosystems across the world.
Billions of tons enter the oceans each year and only part of that amount
can be accounted for plus there are micro plastic particles
as opposed to the millions of tons they have located and can track.
A lot of people see this as a serious problem, of great concern to
humanity. I think the problem is a lot larger than most people think
because it will affect harvest of fish for human consumption, many stocks
of which are not being regenerated, i.e. see news about Phillipine
fishermen.
