I posted a news article on a new industrial process for extracting
essential oils that is much more effective, uses less energy and produces an
oil that is more like that which is in the source plant material. It is a
huge, very high tech machine that does an excellent job; valuable to the
medicinal, aromatic, culinary oil and perfume industries.

As they can be beneficial how could they be harvested and propagated then
relocated where they could be useful in controlling
plant predatory insects. Are they available from biocontrol insectiaries?

Wikipedia:
*Thrips* (Order *Thysanoptera*) are tiny, slender
insects<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Insect>with fringed wings (thus
the scientific
name <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binomial_nomenclature>, from the
Greek<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greek_language>
*thysanos* (fringe) + *pteron*
(wing).[1]<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thrips#cite_note-1>Other
common names for thrips include
*thunderflies*, *thunderbugs*, *storm flies*, *thunderblights*, and *corn
lice*. Thrips species feed on a large variety of sources, both plant and
animal, by puncturing <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puncturing> them and
sucking up the contents. A large number of thrips species are considered
pests, because they feed on plants with commercial value. Some species of
thrips feed on other insects or mites
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mite>and are considered beneficial,
while some feed on fungal
spores <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fungal_spore> or pollen. So far around
5,000 species have been described. Thrips are generally tiny (1 mm long or
less) and are not good flyers, although they can be carried long distances
by the wind. In the right conditions, many species can exponentially
increase in population size and form large swarms, making them an
irritation to humans.
