Thank you Steven,
It is clear that we don't see completely eye to eye as they say in Ireland. Seems to me we have a different language even and it would take a few hundred pages to work this out in all it's details.
I have some difficulty for instance with "each cell is aware and communicating with every other cell in our body through charged minerals and compounds- all of which is light/radiation". Really, each cell is aware of it's immediate neighbors but for general communication the nervous system and the endocrine system are all important. They are there for a reason. It would take much too long to exchange charged minerals between your eye cells and your little toe.
And of course minerals in the real world are not really just light and radiation.
What is really the only important thing is that you try to do something good with your life.
John
John,
I will share my current opinion while asking you to be mindful of the fact that I am not a physicist or a medical doctor. I would define consciousness as awareness. Each cell is aware and communicating with every other cell in our body through charged minerals and compounds (all of which is light/radiation). The solar plexus is the nexus of communication between the mind and the workings of the body. Awareness comes into the mind as thoughts and feelings that provide the information that allows us to steer our behavior to create certain outcomes in our environment. Our mind/psyche is the interface between our body and our spirit/soul. These are levels of consciousness/awareness available to us according to our training/listening.
I am interested in the notion that quantum physics seems to parallel the teachings of the mystics. I share your excitement at the deep mystery of this world and with the striving to generate more variety, quality and balance of life.
On the subject of nanotech the buck ball is a Nano sized carbon matrix found in diesel exhaust. I think this explains the higher incidence of asthma in residents around ports and shipping centers where large amounts of diesel exhaust is released into the air.

Steven, let me say that I have no interest in putting you down. I have a serious interest in the subject though.
I am not too sure what you mean with "not forgetting about the solar plexus"
in the given context. Do you think that your solar plexus is conscious?
In that case we are using very different definitions of "conscious" and I wonder what yours could be.
I'm nearly 60 and I have not ever known my Purkinje- fiber- knot (or solar plexus as you call it) to utter any conscious thought. Have hardly noticed that it is there. I know it must be there for otherwise I could not slow down or speed up my heart rhythm consciously which I can.
There are so many wonderful phenomena in the big wide world. Bacteria and other microorganisms have languages (mostly chemical) that they use to talk to one another. It is not unlikely that they can ask another species for a bit of DNA that will allow them to survive an antibiotic even.
Plants see many more wavelengths of light than we do and react to short flashes of certain wavelengths almost as fast as our nerve system reacts to a stimulus. Plants hear and feel and have a memory. The scientific research has been going on for the better part of 2 centuries. I think the Darwin's (Charles and son Francis) did a hell of a lot of work on this. Many scientific volumes have been filled with the research about this. Some few friends of mine did their doctoral thesis on these things. But I have never seen anybody use the term "conscious" in connection with this work.
John
Well thanks for the observation. Let's hope we don't forget the solar
plexus!
Steven

Science now knows that less than 10% of all our brain activity takes
place in the neo-cortex where consciousness lives. 90 % of brain
activity is in other areas, our reptilian brain parts, where the
sub-conscious lives. Any tale that forgets about the sub-conscious
misses a big part of what is going on imo.
john
Along the lines of physics as it relates to life/consciousness I just
finished a great little book "Stalking The Wild Pendulum" on the
mechanics of consciousness by Itzhak Bentov published by Bantam Books.
It's is an easy read for those not well greased with a degree in
physics yet it is well grounded in science.

John D'hondt intended to convey the message that this DNA stuff is no
more than word-drivel and definitely not "scientific". And this sort
of thing is rife on the net these days.
Started to see a documentary the other day that began by explaining
that there is no person on earth who knows what "energy" really is.
But that instead the "spirit" in the universe is much more important.
Well, energy has a scientific definition, it can be exactly
calculated and measured in well defined units. I would really be
interested in a scientific definition of "spirit", how it can be
measured and in what units.
We would have a better chance in keeping this planet going if more
people pulled their heads out of the clouds for a moment and became
more than borderline rational.
John
That would correspond to what Anastasia says in the Ringing Cedar
Series - it amazes me how much of the unbelievable stuff is written
in those books that then seem to be scientifically discovered or I
read articles about...

Speaking of DNA, is this possible, John D'Hondt?
The royalty of the kingdom of permalandia may think they have all
the woo woo but this time even they have been upstaged:
"Our DNA stores data like a computer’s memory system. Not only that,
but our genetic code uses grammar rules and syntax in a way that
closely mirrors human language! They also found that even the
structuring of DNA-alkaline pairs follows a regular grammar and has
set rules. It appears that all human languages are simply
verbalizations of our DNA. Most astounding of all, the team
discovered that living human DNA can be changed and rearranged with
spoken words and phrases. The key to changing DNA with words and
phrases is in using the right frequency. Through the application of
modulated radio and light frequencies, the Russians were able to
influence cellular metabolism and even remedy genetic defects. The
team achieved incredible results using vibration and language. "

Of course, humans can't cooperate and deal with actual bacteria that
handles other bacteria. They have to make something artificial that
they don't understand and then release it into the environment. I
continue to try to understand this perverse need to do broad scale
experiments that could affect any and all life forms, so that our
socks don't smell as much!
It is easy to understand: follow the trail of unbridled greed and
obsession with power and control.
