"Phnom Kulen and Kbal Spean There are many natural springs in the Kulen
Mountains. These springs spew forth from the earth and collect into small
streams, then join into small rivers, then eventually finds the Tonle Sap
which eventually becomes the Mekong which eventually finds it's way to the
sea. There are thousands of carvings in the rock riverbeds and along the
edge of the small rivers all over the mountain. These carvings were done
1,000 years ago or more. They are mostly lingas and hindu dieties and their
presence in the water makes the water holy. This holy water flows all over
Cambodia from this mountain. The rivers provide sustenance to the millions
of people who depend on the water for their life. There is no way to
explain the energy these carvings impart on the water. No way to explain
the energy the water imparts on YOU when you are in it."
