Two models for implementing change:

five stages include
denial
anger
bargaining
depression
acceptance
Just a few random thoughts on change:
[from a conversation with a 1961 friend, fellow traveller, explorer
and wildlife conservation activist (had several roads completely blocked off to protect the habitat of the copperbelly water snake):
If more people the world over did as we (followers of the permaculture and natural farming discipline) do, global civilization would be on an upward path with no end in sight.
Remember the statement:
(from John Donne)
Ask not for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee.
Therefore, we should:
turn in
turn on naturally
drop out
chill out
cool it
may peace, calm, quietude & tranquillity bring you to a contemplative state wherein you may become enlightened
become at one with the silence
the infinitesimally small spot at the center of ever-expanding waves
the sound of one mind, motionless
most of the stuff of the world will slough off around you as you awaken into light and sound
Phase II
http://www.mindtools.com/pages/article/newPPM_82.htm
eight stages include
create urgency
form a powerful coalition
create a vision
communicate the vision
remove obstacles
create short-term wins
build on the change
Excellent! This would make a good beginning for a new permaculture designer's manual.
Forget this last step though it may be possible with select honest corporations, or pass more regulations (like ones that were removed
to make way for corruption).
anchor the change in the corporate culture
Stop natural gas drilling and fracking in locations where it should not be even remotely considered.
