Yes, that fact doesn't appear in his books, however I have a video on
Fukuoka's farm made in the '80s "The Great Way has no Gate" where he
explains how the soil on the hill was so hard he used dynamite to loosen the
soil for planting his citrus trees.
In his 1986 tour of the US he also said, 'while the ultimate aim is to do
nothing, sometimes a lot of things have to be done to reach that state"
