As I read the judge's ruling, it only requires the digging up of the GMO
sugar beet stecklings, not their subsequent destruction, and that might allow
for them to be stored and replanted later under some sort of injunction or
stay of the ruling we seem to be celebrating this week. Also, chenopod
stecklings are extremely durable and can regrow from a small scrap left in
compost or plowed under, spreading their pollen the following summer. We are
NOT out of the woods yet on this issue.
