Two great quotes I have discovered over the past few weeks:
Food safety and standard laws equal "Food Fascism" - Vandana Shiva
Here’s my rule for legislation: if Monsanto is for it, I’m against it. If
Monsanto is against it, I’m for it. - Joel Salatin

I recall hearing a politician once say, "The hardest thing in the world is to
pass a bill. The easiest thing in the world is to change a bill."
What concerns me is that, even with the Tester-Hagan amendment, agri-business
has their foot in the door. If this bill passes can't they just slip
provisions
in later?
For example, can the $500,000 be changed to say $300,00 ayear from now?
The history of governmental legislationis full of riders. Whose gonna notice
(or be able to stoponce they do notice) if a provision targeting small raw
milk
producers is slipped into a bill concerning airlines or seed saving is banned
in
a bill regardinghealth care....
